Jessie Dagnall spoke to him after her 1st visit up there in 1924, but she said she had not seen Carlton St. but had visited Rose and John in Duke Street. He said it was the same (I don't know if she meant the same street or the same type of housebecause she was in full flow and I wouldn't stop her train of thought). On this visit to Rose (Jessie's Aunt Rose) she remembers distinctly they were all in one room. Rose was baking bread, the children were playing outside but not allowed in. The grown ups were in conversation and she was not allowed out but had to sit silently.

Jessie thinks through some form of trap door opening. He used to sneak

thinks may be the remains of the Town Hall with like an oval glass
place.
