As you know, Leuchars records s 4 CONC tart in 1665. John Rhynd and Jean Elder had a daughter, Jean, I think h 4 CONC er name was, (working from memory here) born in 1667. They had two othe 4 CONC r daughter as well, recorded in 1672 and, (I think) 1675. Now, if our A 4 CONC rthur had been born before the records began (seems pretty likely given a 4 CONC ll the evidence) and if he was born in Leuchars (again seems pretty lik 4 CONC ely due to the fact that the family was clearly well integrated into th 4 CONC e Leuchars community and, as we have established, well respected AND be 4 CONC cause there have been Rhynds in the parish for so long) the only candid 4 CONC ates for his parents, from the records, have to be John Rhynd and Jean E 4 CONC lder. If Arthur was a son of theirs born about 1663, Patrick could have b 4 CONC een born just a few years earlier.
